Last night, Karrion Kross took on Adam Cole, Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly & Johnny Gargano all at once in his second defense of the NXT Championship. After a brutal and chaotic 26 minute war, he’d choke out O’Reilly and be named the victor. It’s unclear who his next challenge is, but there was one interesting challenge that came from Twitter. This was from the recently released Braun Strowman.
Braun Strowman Would Love To Fight Karrion Kross
This situation stems from a fan noting on Twitter that they’d love to see Strowman clash with Kross in a one on one match, but Kross is afraid to catch those hands. Always a good sport, Strowman would respond and get something potentially started by saying the following. “I’d love to fight him!!!! But I’ll say this once time stands still when I want it to!!!!”
Kross would respond in character, saying “Monster Among Men. You and I trying to annihilate each other is inevitable. I’ll be looking forward to it. And always preparing.” before Strowman finished out with “Meet me in Valhalla will fight for the Gods!!!!” If nothing else, this was a fun Twitter exchange, but as Strowman is still in his 90 day non-compete clause, there is a potential match here.
One Final Match Before He Says Goodbye To WWE?
Recently in WWE, we saw two cases of someone showing up before their release period was finished. The first was Drake Maverick in NXT, who competed in the tournament to crown an interim Cruiserweight Champion, and gained a new contract by the end. Another was Heath Slater, who showed up for one last moment with former faction mate Drew McIntyre on Monday Night RAW.
If Strowman would agree to one more match in WWE, we could see him show up in NXT and have this match with Karrion Kross. It would give him a chance to be properly written off WWE TV, give Kross a major challenge to overcome and further legitimize his reign, and give fans a potentially great match. There are little downsides, but WWE might have current plans for Kross that this would interfere with, and Strowman has no obligation to accept the match.
