The latest PPV match between him and Anthony Ogogo. Where a lot of fans were even more split with Cody Rhodes looking like he buried Anthony Ogogo.
He was getting a massive push until this match with him but then lost clean to Cody Rhodes with him outboxing a boxer. Even to fans of Cody Rhodes, this was puzzling, even though I was hoping for Cody to win. It’s a bizarre move. There is a rematch in a tag team match coming this week. But after this, a lot of people are now thinking that Cody Rhodes was teasing a heel turn.
Most of these thoughts come from Cody Rhodes’ outfit that looked similar to Homelander but looking closely. There might be a hint to All Might, an anime character from My Hero Academia.

If you are not an anime fan, you might not know about All Might. A character from Hero Academia. He is known as the best hero that protects the people. After a huge fight, he gets injured and then has to pass his powers to a powerless human who is the story’s main character.
That story could make sense for Cody Rhodes, who will be passing the torch onto his student in the future. Also, with him leaving at some point for a while when his daughter is born. This could make sense as a good guy wouldn’t pass that on to a villain like Anthony Ogogo. Maybe after this match could pass it onto another student of his.
There is also a point where Cody Rhodes used punches and a finisher similar to All Might. There are other similarities when he’s wearing the cap. The pants Cody was wearing in the match are also very similar to All Might rather than Homelander.
Heel or Face?
Cody Rhodes has mentioned in the past that he would never turn heel. If that is true, Cody Rhodes could be in trouble in the future. With him already confirming, he won’t be going for the championship belt. The restraint never could hurt the character.
John Cena did the same thing when everyone wanted him to go heel. He never did it, building a lot more hate towards him. It feels like the same thing is happening with Cody Rhodes at the moment. Heel Cody Rhodes is Prime Cody.
He’s a great face, but heel Cody Rhodes is just another level, and I hope he turns heel at some point in the very near future. However, it does look like his outfit was inspired by All Might rather than Homelander.
