After seven years as the General Manager of NXT, William Regal has finally lost control. He can’t control men like Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly or NXT Champion Karrion Kross. At the end of XT TakeOver: In Your House Sunday night he’d state that it’s time for a change. Is he going to step down? Set harsh rules to stop the chaos? Or does he have someone set to help restore order? Regal will be sure to let us know tonight.
William Regal Has Given His All To NXT
Regal would open the show, and the crowd would have some please don’t go chant. He’d thank them but wanted to get some words on his chest. He’s been with NXT from the start, from being a pro in the early days to commentary to being GM for seven years. Regal has watched NXT grow, watched it go worldwide, and watched every single great moment. He’s got to sit in his hometown with his nieces and watch a show in Blackpool even.
There’s a lot folks don’t know about, and he’s been dedicating his life to this brand. This has taken him all around the world, but he’s finally decided something. With the chaos that NXT has erupted into, Regal has given all he has. It’s time to say goodbye, Regal doesn’t think he’s capable of giving fans what they deserve.
Kross & Scarlet have known this day was coming for a while, but once they heard his speech? They needed to come out. Kross would call Regal pathetic, and reminded him that he told him last week that he lost control. At Takeover, he punched a hole through the Mount Rushmore of NXT, and proved he can control the brand through chaos and violence. He wants Regal to tell everyone he’s leaving, walk up the aisle and never come back.
The music of Samoa Joe would hit, and this is a man NXT knows well. Joe is a two time NXT Champion, and a living legend of professional wrestling. Regal was looking to speak with Joe, not Kross. Because of his love of NXT, he wants a GM who can hold the position with respect and dignity. That man is not Samoa Joe. He would turn down the offer.
Joe knows Regal is weary, but he knows that Regal isn’t done. He plucked NXT from obscurity and made it an international sensation. Joe can’t fill the shoes of Regal, and while he gave Regal hell during his time in NXT, he always gave him respect in the end. He won’t take a GM role, but he will ensure that people like Kross respect Regal, and help reign in the chaos.
Joe however isn’t going to be a competitor, and can’t put his hands on anyone… unless he’s provoked. Kross would be sent packing by Regal and his new enforcer. Do you see Samoa Joe getting into the ring with this new role? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
