A few months ago, if you asked fans who the best in-ring workers in WWE were, there was a high chance of Buddy Murphy being brought up in the conversation. Murphy was never positioned as a star in WWE, despite proving to be on the level of names like Roman Reigns & Aleister Black in the ring, and being put alongside Seth Rollins. Now, Murphy has been released from WWE and can apply his skills elsewhere, and one company is interested.
Impact Wrestling Are Making Major Moves To Bring In Murphy
After being asked about the status of Murphy after the now Malakai Black would mention him in an online promo, Dave Meltzer would include an update about Murphy in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. On the topic of Murphy, Meltzer would say the following. “Don’t know anything regarding AEW, but do know that Impact is making a major play for the former Murphy.”
This is something which isn’t too surprising, as Murphy has expressed a lot of interest in working for Impact Wrestling. During an interview with Chris Van Vilet, Murphy danced around questions of wanting to work with AEW to bring up Impact Wrestling.
Many Big Matches Available In Impact Wrestling
While fans will groan that another ex-WWE wrestler will join Impact Wrestling, Murphy is an ideal fit for this company, able to fit in either the X-Division or the hunt for the Impact Wrestling World Championship, currently held by Kenny Omega. There are many promising matches, starting with names like Omega, Josh Alexander, Black Taurus, Ace Austin and more.
Impact Wrestling is a great place to work based on the relationships they have alone. They are linked to NJPW & AEW alone, and generally allow their talent to work with the indies as they wish. His fans simply want to see Murphy be able to go all out in the ring, and wherever he goes this should be the reality. Murphy has been calling himself the Best Kept Secret since his time in NXT, and now the secret is about to be out.
