August is set to be an incredible month for professional wrestling, with WWE, AEW & NJPW all bringing major shows. One card that is quickly building up to be something truly special is NJPW Resurgence. While the most recently announced match was Lance Archer making his NJPW return to defend his newly won IWGP United States Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi, the card is far from finalized, and former champion Jon Moxley intends to be at this event.
Jon Moxley Calls Out The Good Brothers For NJPW Resurgence
On the latest episode of NJPW Strong, Jon Moxley would appear with a message for some rivals. He would call out the winners of Tag Team Turbulence, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson for a tag team match at Resurgence, saying the following.
“I just want to send a little message real quick after that match to New Japan Pro Wrestling. Wherever my travels in the sport take me you can be damn sure of one thing; I will settle scores that need settling. Whether it takes months, weeks, days, hours, or years I will eventually get you. I will settle a score and I got a little bit of business with these Bullet Club type guys and I was just thinking. You know on the 14th, I got a buddy of mine, meeting him in LA for some beers. So why don’t we make it a two for one? Good Brothers, Gallows & Anderson; you meet me at resurgence in LA and I’ll have a surprise for you, if you got the balls between the two of you.”
Who Could His Partner Be?
Mystery partners are always fun, especially from someone with such a decorated career as Jon Moxley. His usual partner of Eddie Kingston is not an option this time around, as he has another booking on the 14th. Shota Umino is also out of the running, as he will miss Resurgence due to travel restrictions. So the two expected partners are out, but one great option remains.
Right now in Impact Wrestling, Sami Callihan is feuding with Kenny Omega, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Callihan is also an old partner of Jon Moxley from their days in CZW as members of Switchblade Conspiracy. Add in that Callihan has even worked NJPW previously, joining Juice Robinson for a World Tag League? He’s a strong option to show up on August 14th with Jon Moxley.
