MJF is all alone once again in AEW – and by no fault of his own. His best friend and tag team partner Adam Cole is out with an ankle injury, after Cole came to the ring to assist MJF in retaining the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe.

However, MJF isn’t about to give up the ROH World Tag Team Championships – and tonight, he faces down Vincent & Dutch of The Righteous in a handicap match. Vincent & Dutch have the numbers edge, but is that enough to defeat the AEW World Champion?

Before getting into the ring – MJF would deny his attack on Jay White from AEW Dynamite. While it was someone wearing his devil costume – it was stolen from his locker room. After all, why would he need to jump attack someone like White?

MJF would turn his attention to The Righteous. He promised to bodyslam Dutch, and drag Vincent by his dreads right into Dutch’s fat ass.

MJF Calls His Shot Against The Righteous

The bell would ring, and MJF would ask who wants to see a bodyslam. Dutch gave MJF a chance, but would be unable to get him up. MJF would say he was unfamiliar with Dutch’s game, and called for sportsmanship

A handshake would follow, before MJF poked Dutch in the eyes. Dutch would break out of a headlock, before he was tripped into the ropes.

Vincent was brought into the ring, and MJF tried to complete one half of his plan – only to be thrown into a lariat by Dutch. The Righteous would start the two on one attack, and MJF broke free and looked for a tag – only finding an empty corner. Dutch tried for a bodyslam, but MJF countered and lifted Dutch – only to be unable to complete the slam.

MJF would take a Powerbomb and Swanton Bomb, before the Bossman Slam from Dutch. Vincent would use Dutch as a launching pad for the Acid Drop – but he was unable to pin MJF just yet.

MJF would have a 2×2 put between his ankles, as Dutch distracted the referee for Vincent to strike. He’d get a low blow instead, with MJF trying to get a DQ once the referee turned around.

Vincent tried for the Swanton Bomb a second time, but MJF sat up to avoid. MJF would slam Dutch face first into the corner ten times, before nine punches and one bite for Vincent.

Finally, he’d body slam Dutch – only to collapse before completing the pinfall. Vincent was thrown head first into Dutch as he bent over in the corner, before MJF set up the Kangaroo Kick – and hit both opponents. Heatseeker Piledriver on Dutch followed, MJF got his feet on the ropes – and the reign remains intact.

Eddie Kingston & Katsuyori Shibata Bring The Physicality To WrestleDream

Eddie Kingston is now a double champion – holding both the ROH World Championship and the NJPW Strong Openweight Championships. Both belts mean the world to Kingston – and tonight, he puts them on the line against a true legend of professional wrestling.

He has called out Katsuyori Shibata – a man simply known as ‘The Wrestler’. Shibata is the reigning ROH Pure Rules Champion, meaning a victory here could set up Kingston to become a triple champion.

Shibata would try for a leg lace as the bell rang, with Kingston avoiding before hitting a series of chops before trying for the Spinning Backfist.

Kingston would be quickly locked into an ankle lock – forcing him to crawl to the bottom rope to break free. Shibata would be right into the neck move, trying to get the Figure Four Leg Lock – and Kingston was unable to fight off the technical skills, using another rope break.

Kingston was unable to find his feet before The Wrestler moved into a third leg submission – this time an Indian Deathlock before a Bow & Arrow Stretch.

Shibata moved into a side headlock, but Kingston broke out with a Backdrop Driver. Kingston would batter Shibata into the corner with a series of chops, and would take a return shot with the jumping big boot and Hesitation Dropkick. Single Hatch suplex would see Shibata float over into a pinfall, getting a two count.

Earning The Respect Of The Wrestler Himself

Shibata would hit some Kawada Kicks to the face of Kingston, firing him up before testing his jaw with a big boot. Heavy blows were traded before Kingston hit an Exploder Suplex, and Shibata rolled to his feet for an STO.

Kingston would take a series of kicks to the chest, before missing a lariat – and Shibata would grab the wrist before a stiff overhand chop.

Cobra Twist would be applied, and Shibata would take him to the mat and nearly choked him out – before Kingston found the rope break. If this was a Pure Rules match – he would have run out of rope breaks by now.

Spinning Backfists would be traded, causing a double down. Both men fought back to their feet, and Kingston hit the Uraken into the Northern Lights Bomb – only getting a two count after the combo.

Another Uraken was followed by a high angle powerbomb – and Kingston holds onto his titles. Respect was shown after the bell – well earned after this war of a match.

Will Kingston dare to step into a Pure Rules match with Shibata? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
