After his incredible AEW debut, the wild circumstances behind it, Malakai Black has become a major star in professional wrestling once again. To be able to go from being released mid-storyline by WWE, to having a world of possibilities to be creative and express himself has been amazing. However, AEW isn’t the only company we can expect to see Black make his mark in, and he has one place in mind which many fans will love to see him wrestle for.
Malakai Black Wants To Work For NJPW
While speaking with the Wrestling Perspective podcast, Black would answer questions about other companies that reached out. This would also come to discuss companies he wants to debut for with his newfound creative freedom.
“There were multiple offers, conversations, happening from different companies. One of the companies that I still want to do some stuff for, hopefully in the future, is New Japan. That would make my circle complete. That’s what I was raised on. I always wanted to go to Japan. I always wanted to go to New Japan. It has always been one of my ultimate goals, one of the last few things on my checklist is New Japan. Let’s hope in due time, someway, somehow, we can make that happen in the future.”
An Instant Fit For The Style Of The Company
Especially after an incredible show in the historic Tokyo Dome, New Japan Pro Wrestling is on the minds of wrestling fans once again. While things are a bit muted in the main event scene with controversial former champion EVIL stepping up, the G1 Climax is fast approaching which will put us on the path to Wrestle Kingdom.
Outside of doing a major tournament like the G1 Climax, there are few better places to debut than in the Tokyo Dome, especially when you’re to be displayed as a big deal. Black would fit this category, and would fit the hard hitting style of NJPW perfectly. You could put him in the ring with anyone from a hard hitter like Aaron Henare to a legend like Yuji Nagata and get something incredible.
