Isla Dawn has been a thorn in the side of Emilia McKenzie since she’s returned to NXT UK, and even has two singles wins over McKenzie. Tonight, the promising suplex machine looks to finally step past the White Witch of NXT UK.
Emilia McKenzie Finally Hunts The White Witch
Dawn would be still posing in the corner as McKenzie dashed in with some strikes. Weathering the early storm, Dawn tried to fight back before taking a hard front dropkick and swinging neckbreaker for a two count. A high angle back suplex shows why she’s Suplex-Millie, but Dawn slipped to the outside and hit a hotshot over the ropes. Dawn would take control and hit a running double knee strike.
McKenzie would block a suplex attempt, but Dawn adapted quickly and got a small package for a two count. Dawn sent McKenzie to the outside, where she’d hit a PK off the apron. McKenzie would fire up and nail a cutter in the ring for a two count. Dawn took a high boot in the corner and McKenzie looked for the slingshot spear, but Dawn got a knee strike and backdrop driver.
Dawn would not be as lucky with blocking the next spear attempt, but it only got a two count. McKenzie would take a roundhouse kick, and Dawn would go to an evil place according to commentary and lose control as McKenzie looked for an armbar. Dawn got a small package, but a German Suplex and running knee strike to the back of the head would end this one.
Another solid in-ring outing for both of these talented ladies, but the character work of Dawn still leaves a lot to be desired. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
Elsewhere in NXT UK, Meiko Satomura shocked everyone when she ended the reign of Kay Lee Ray as NXT UK Women’s Champion. KLR dubbed herself as the forever champion, and even beat Satomura one time prior. Now, a new reign begins, and tonight we will hear from our new champion, who could be even more dominant than the last.
Amale Seeks To Prove Herself Against Meiko Satomura
Three weeks ago, she finally beat Kay Lee Ray. This makes her very happy, and NXT UK is now her home. However, someone was ready to steal her spotlight. Nina Samuels would make her way to ringside. She’s here to congratulate Satomura, but also lay down a challenge.
NXT UK needs more Nina, and so does Satomura. To live up to the reign of KLR, she needs to defeat a mega star like Samuels. While she would be ranting and presenting her case, Amale would attack from behind and say she is sick of seeing the same girls every week. She’s done standing by, and is taking her spot as Satomuras next challenger. Amale got her match, but not before Satomura dropped her with a forearm smash.
