Since returning from injury, Kris Statlander has been unstoppable. She’s been picking up win after win, and tonight might be just what she needs to get to the top of the rankings, as she faces The Native Beast, Nyla Rose. Rose recently lost a match to Britt Baker, so a win here tonight will help her get back into the running as well. This one heated up after Rose rammed into Statlander during the trios match before this.
Kris Statlander Beats The #1 Ranked Nyla Rose
Before the bell even rang, Rose hit a clubbing blow on Statlander. Statlander came back with some kicks, before getting pounced and almost got sent to the outside. Rose would grab Statlander for a huge German Suplex, before rushing at Statlander and being sent to the outside. Statlander tripped Rose off the arpon, before hitting a shooting star press.
Orange Cassidy confronted Vickie Guerrero, and she injured his eardrums with a deadly yell. Rose would hit a slam onto the apron, before draping Statlander over the top rope. Statlander would nail a huge powerbomb and the Area 451 for the quick win! It just took two big moves for her to drop a former AEW Women’s World Champion, and now she could be in line for a shot at either Britt Baker or Red Velvet. Will Kris Statlander get a title shot?
Britt Baker Is In The House
Speaking of Baker vs. Velvet, we’d get a hype package for the first ever Rampage main event. They will main event over Christian vs. Kenny Omega for the Impact World Championship, and a TNT Championship open challenge. Red Velvet is going into the biggest match of her career, on a 22-4 record for 2021. Last time she clashed with Britt Baker, Baker was able to win in just three minutes.
After the promo was over, Baker would hit the ring in-front of her hometown town, turning it into Brittsburgh. She got a heroes welcome, but refused to acknowledge the rise of Velvet; as she can’t relate. Baker has been the face of the women’s division when she got signed, and was ready to step up when Pittsburgh needed a champion.
She’d show them hope after a rough year, lifting the AEW Women’s World Championship high. Speaking of hope, no one has a hope of beating her on home turf. Can Red Velvet do the impossible? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
