When Malakai Black made his shocking AEW debut, he would take down both Arn Anderson & Cody Rhodes with his signature spin kick. After weeks of verbal exchanges and brawls, it’s time for them to settle this in the ring in a first time ever match. A win here would instantly legitimize Black as a top star in AEW, but you’d be a fool to ever count Cody Rhodes out.
Malakai Black Puts Cody Rhodes Down With A Single Blow
After an imposing entrance from Black, Rhodes would fire up during his entrance. Black would stare a hole through Rhodes, and there was a big match feel for this one before they even locked up. They’d lock up, and end in a stalemate on the ropes, with Black kicking the leg of Rhodes.
Rhodes would look to apply the Figure Four Leglock on Black, only to get his eye gouged. Black looked for a dragon screw with Rhodes countering, before he’d take Rhodes down with a sweep and apply a deep single leg crab. Rhodes was able to get the ropes, but Black knows that he has till 5 and held onto until he needed too.
Black rushed in for another kick and Rhodes side stepped before looking for Cross Rhodes. A kick to the head stunned Rhodes, who would come back with a strike of his own. He’d go up top, and Black kicked him off and through the timekeepers table. Black would simply sit in the middle of the ring and wait, but Rhodes beat the count. Back in the ring, Black nailed the Black Mass kick and pinned Rhodes with one foot.
Is Rhodes Done?
This one was over, and Rhodes would be out. Tony Schiavone would look for an interview after Rhodes would finally wake up. Rhodes was stunned by what just happened, and would say that his goal in the career was to win the NWA Championship. He did that, and then he started AEW.
Some people laughed at the idea of AEW, and now it’s one of the biggest promotions in the world. Rhodes & The Elite set this table, and now it’s time for new people to eat. For three years Rhodes has been the face of the company, but now it’s time for him to step out of the spotlight.
He’d call Daily’s Place the AEW amphitheatre, and say there is no better place to do this. The boots were to be left in the ring, but Black hit from behind once again. Is this the end of Cody Rhodes? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
