Lately on AEW programming, we’ve been seeing a lot of big name indy stars pop up. Wheeler Yuta is the 5th member of Best Friends, and Wheeler Yuta was able to really grind away at Darby Allin last week on Dynamite. However, we haven’t gotten word on either of these two being offered contracts, but we might have a sign that Daniel Garcia could be All Elite.
Daniel Garcia Was Pulled From An Indy Date By AEW
This Friday is a potentially major day in AEW history, with Rampage: The First Dance taking place in Chicago. However, Daniel Garcia wasn’t planning on being there. He was booked for Saint Louis Anarchy, where he would have been taking on Jeremy Wyatt in a Pure Rules match. However, he’s been pulled from that date due to now being set with AEW.
The promotion sent out two tweets on the matter. “Daniel Garcia has been pulled from the event on Friday. There will be card changes. I’m very sorry.” was the one where this news broke, but it was quickly confirmed that AEW did the right thing. “Shout out to AEW for reimbursing us on travel we had bought Garcia for Friday. Not alot of bigger companies would have done that. The purpose of us is to get talent ready for them. We wish Garcia the best and hopefully we see him in Anarchy soon.”
Either Signed, Or Very Close
This is some good press for AEW, and also indicates that if Garcia isn’t signed, he’s very close. AEW allows their talent to work indie shows, but they have first dibs on them. This leads to situations like what we have here, but they have always found a way to make up for the pulled talent. That can be either by reimbursing their travel fees, or even sending a replacement talent in.
Signed or not, we can expect Daniel Garcia to be back on AEW very soon. It’s unclear if he will be on Rampage or simply part of tapings for Dark, but Rampage seems more likely.
