We’re just a few short days away from another jam packed weekend of exciting wrestling action. Between AEW being on the road to All Out, and NJPW gearing up for two massive shows at MetLife Dome – there will be a lot for fans to enjoy. We’ve already known the card for All Out, but what will NJPW offer? Speculate no more, as both cards have been fully revealed.
Hiroshi Tanahashi Puts IWGP United States Championship On The Line On September 4th
With stadium shows, NJPW doesn’t really offer much in the way of small matches. September 4th doesn’t have many title matches, but everything feels important. The opener will be BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi taking on Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask, a prelude to a title match on September 5th. SHO will take on former tag team partner YOH in a grudge match following the split of Roppongi 3K. The KOPW 2021 will be on the line in a No DQ I Quit match, as Toru Yano looks to reclaim the trophy from Chase Owens.
In a rematch from the last Wrestle Grand Slam event, Jeff Cobb will take another crack at Kazuchika Okada. Okada won their last encounter with a flash pinfall, hardly a definitive win for the ace. The main event of the show will see rivals and partners clash, as Hiroshi Tanahashi puts his newly won IWGP United States Championship on the line against a returning Kota Ibushi. These two have nothing but respect for each other – but that won’t stop them from giving their all in this match.
Shingo Takagi Looks To Shut EVIL Down
The show on September 5th will start with a follow up to Okada vs. Cobb, as they team with factionmates in Tomohiro Ishii & Great-O-Khan for a tag team clash. Speaking of tag team action, the IWGP Junior Tag Team Champion El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori will defend against the winners of Super Junior Tag Leaguem El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Meanwhile, Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr. have to deal with two top teams as they defend their championships against both the Chaos Unit of Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI and the L.I.J unit of SANADA and Tetsuya Naito.
There are also two singles championship matches. Hiromu Takahashi is taking on Robbie Eagles for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Takahashi was taken to the limit by DOUKI recently, proving that his shoulder is 100% and ready to carry a belt again. Finally, capping off this two night event is the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. Shingo Takagi is keen on carrying this belt back into another Tokyo Dome event, and will have to get through former L.I.J partner EVIL in his next title defense.
In addition to all this, we will likely see the fields for the 2021 G1 Climax announced at these events. What match are you most looking forward to? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
