Kicking off this show was the Million Dollar Championship celebration. Cameron Grimes & Ted DiBiase were able to take out LA Knight at NXT Takeover 36, preventing either man from being a butler, and getting the Million Dollar Legacy back on track. Tonight, their party hits the Capitol Wrestling Center, to see what’s next for Grimes!
Cameron Grimes & Ted DiBiase Make A Million Dollar Memory
Taking the microphone, DiBiase would explain that he’s always been here looking for someone to carry on his legacy. He wanted to find someone with all the skills needed to be the new Million Dollar Man. Grimes was the man, because he has all the gifts a wrestler needs and a winners heart.
However, when Grimes first met DiBiase, he drove him nuts – on purpose! That was the first set of tests to see if Grimes was ready, but Grimes passed and figured out who it was. While he worked as the butler of Knight, he realized DiBiase couldn’t do this, so he made sure to take Knight down. Now there’s a question. What is next for Cameron Grimes? Simple, to the moon! Money with Cameron Grimes’ face would flood the CWC, while he did his best Million Dollar Laugh!
Timothy Thatcher Came To Fight…
For weeks now, Ridge Holland has been really wrecking shop in WWE NXT. This all started when he started off when Holland returned to help Pete Dunne & Oney Lorcan against Timothy Thatcher & Tommaso Ciampa. Tonight, this comes full circle as Holland goes toe to toe with Thatcher in a one on one clash that is sure to be a hard hitting brawl.
There was no hesitation in the eyes of Thatcher as he stormed the ring, or was there any shown as they locked up. Holland & Thatcher traded uppercuts in the middle of the ring, before Holland applied a headlock. Thatcher shoved him off and took a shoulder tackle, before finally getting somewhere with his uppercuts. He’d take Holland down by the leg, raining down some chops to the face.
Holland would come back with a heavy forearm, before a dumping scoop slam into the ropes. The power of Holland is unmatched, but Thatcher would chop away with leg kicks before taking a punch to the face. Some heavy blows would be laid in, and Holland would come back with a back elbow and another punch to the face. Thatcher would hit a belly to belly suplex off the ropes, before looking for the armbar.
Holland would try to power out, but Thatcher would just keep going after different limbs before taking a heavy knee strike. He’d come back with an overhead suplex, before Thatcher applied a double wrist lock. Holland would power out with a short arm lariat, as we went to a picture in picture break.
Ridge Holland Makes The Impact, Danny Burch Is Back!
Throughout the break, Holland would apply a chin lock in the ring, forcing Thatcher to fight to his feet. However, whenever he’d get close, Holland would simply beat him back down. When he finally got vertical, he’d trade blows with Holland again, getting some heavy uppercuts in before mounting a proper comeback with a scoop slam.
Going after the ankle would be smart, given the recent injuries of Holland. He’d try to kick his way free, before taking a chop to the face. Holland would block a kick and nail a headbutt, before the Northern Grit Driver for the win out of seemingly nowhere. After the match, Ciampa would get in the ring and go after Holland. However, Oney Lorcan & a returning Danny Burch were here to even the odds.
Thatcher would keep fighting, before being dropped by Holland’s bat. Can Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher gather more allies to take on this brewing faction? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
