Christian Cage has done something that few wrestlers in AEW have been able to do. He has pinned Kenny Omega, the first man to do so since Omega became the AEW World Heavyweight Champion. This was on the debut episode of AEW Rampage, when Christian won the Impact Wrestling World Championship. Now tonight at All Out, he looks to do this once again and become a double world champion.
However, Omega showed a more twisted side than usual on AEW Dynamite, when he trapped Christian in a steel cage and ruthlessly beat him down. Omega will do anything to keep his championship, and Christian will have to fight like hell to take it. Also before this match, QT Marshall was squashed by Paul Wight before this match, and it was exactly what you expect.
Christian Cage Came With A Plan
Omega dashed in early with a V-Trigger and got the corner instead before a Killswitch was attempted. This was countered, and they’d quickly spill to the outside with a brawl and a huge dive to the outside from Christian. Omega would throw him over the steel steps and shatter a table over his body with a double stomp. He’d look for a suplex through the table, but Christian would be able to avoid it.
Back in the ring, Omega hit a running dunk before applying a camel clutch. This would just wear Christian down, before a back suplex for a one count. Christian would be put onto the top rope and shoved down to the floor. Omega looked for a moonsault off the apron and slipped off the first time, but the second time’s the charm.
Back in the ring the Ushigoroshi landed for a two count, and Omega went up top and got dropped. They’d end up back in the middle of the ring to trade some blows, before Christian got some punches in the corner. He’d choke him on the middle rope, and slap the taste out of his mouth before an attempt at the cloverleaf. Omega broke free and wanted the Rolling Fireman’s Carry, but took a reverse DDT instead.
Kenny Omega Pulls Out His Biggest Move
Christian looked for the spear, before taking a knee to the jaw. A tornado DDT brought him back into the fight before looking for the Killswitch. Omega countered and shoved him into the corner for a V-Trigger. Snap Dragon Suplex would follow, and Christian would take a V-Trigger and he’d roll to the apron.
The table was still set up at ringside, and Christian was looking for Killswitch through it but almost took the One Winged Angel through it. He slipped free, and hit a spear off through the table. They’d work back into the ring, where Christian hit two spears – getting a two count. Omega tried for the Doctor Wily Bomb, but couldn’t lift Christian and nailed some knee strikes. The ripcord V-Trigger followed, but Christian would get Omega into the cloverleaf.
Don Callis called for aid, with Gallows & Anderson hitting the ring only to be taken out by Omega with an accidentally V-Trigger. The attempt at Killswitch w\ould follow, with Omega looking for the One Winged Angel, before we got the Killswitch for a near fall. Don Callis got into the ring, but was sent running off. Omega would counter a super Killswitch into a super One Winged Angel for the win.
An epic main event between two incredible technical wrestlers. It was a long show and they still had the fans excited, and it was old-school in feel. Kenny Omega is the best big match wrestler, and it was another great one for AEW. Match Rating: 4.25/5 (**** 1/4)
After the match, The Young Bucks would come to ringside to celebrate with Omega and keep the beating coming. Someone had to save him, and Jurassic Express tried but it was unsuccessful. Yes chants started, which is really insensitive to Christian & Jurassic Express who were being beaten.
Kenny Omega would say no one is on his level, and everyone who can beat him is not even here. Except one man is here and it was Adam Cole BAYBAY! The lost member of The Elite is here and is All Elite! This is a man who is on his level, and he’s with The Elite! He’d hug it out with The Young Bucks, and it was a manufactured moment. The Elite is back on top with Cole here, and there’s no chance in hell anyone can stop them.
Before the show faded to black, there was one more. Ride of The Valkyries played and out walked Bryan Danielson. He’d side with Jurassic Express and Christian to brawl with The Elite! What is next for AEW? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
