When Adam Cole joined AEW, the Superkliq was back. The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega are a deadly trio, but Adam Cole being subbed out for Omega makes an equally dangerous one. Having taken issue with Christian Cage, Jungle Boy and Luchasarus – the choice was obvious. Take The Young Bucks along, and show the fans what being Elite truly means.
The Super
There was an insanely loud “Adam Cole BAYBAY” pop before the match, one of the loudest things we’ve ever heard. That gives a good indication on who this crowd will be rooting for – though never count out someone like Jungle Boy to win a crowd over. Tarzan Boy alone is enough to get the crowd going.
Christian would start up with Cole, something no one ever expected to see. Matt Jackson would tag in however, and be taken down with ease before being slapped down. Christian would take some rabid shots, before coming back with some of his own before choking Matt on the ropes, and going up and over for an uppercut. Jungle Boy tagged in, and worked with Christian to take out both Young Bucks.
The Young Bucks would try to double team Jungle Boy but he’d send them out with a double arm drag. He’d stare down Cole, which feels like a future PPV main event in AEW. Jungle Boy ran into a superkick party, and Luchasarus would be taken down as well. Back in the ring, Cole applied a camel clutch, and Bucks ran the ropes for some cheek kisses before a backflip into dropkick to Jungle Boy.
Luchasarus Gets Isolated
After a brief commercial break, we’d be back into the action. Jungle Boy fought out of the Superkliq corner to get Luchasarus in. The biggest man in this match, he’d throw Superkliq around, before posing for the crowd. A double chokeslam on Young Bucks was countered by a pump kick from Adam Cole, before Cole was slammed onto Matt.
Christian would get a reverse DDT on Cole, before being taken out. Jungle Boy would hit a super hurricanrana and Christian hit a diving headbutt. Snare Trap was locked in and Gallows would bait him out of the hold, allowing Matt to nail a superkick. A big brawl broke out, leading to bodies from the ring to the ramp.
Christian took a low blow and got thrown off the ramp, before Jungle Boy joined him. Luchasarus rose from the dead and took a low superkick and shining wizard from Cole. Panama Sunrise, BTE Trigger and The Boom – this one was over.
A fast paced and chaotic six man tag team match, which showed why people were so excited to see Cole reunited with The Bucks. We’re one French Canadian brawler away from perfection. Jungle Boy & Luchasarus did well here as well, but Christian just played his hits. Match Rating: 3.5/5 (*** 1/2)
