Last week on Rampage, The Lucha Bros were able to successfully defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Butcher & The Blade. After the bell, they’d be attacked by Private Party – another team under the banner of the Hardy Family Office. Santana & Ortiz would save The Lucha Bros, and now we have a massive eight man tag team match for this week.
An Unfollowable Brawl Of A Match
This is possibly the best eight man team you get from HFO – two bruisers and two high flyers. However, they’re up against the AEW World Tag Team Champions and one of the best brawling teams in AEW history – who are also hometown boys. Santana & Ortiz got a huge pop, and it was a huge brawl to start. HFO were thrown out one by one, before Santana & Ortiz joined Lucha Bros for a huge dive combo.
Penta & Ortiz worked to hit a combo splash, before HFO would start another brawl. Butcher & Blade wouldn’t be able to hit Full Death, and Orange Cassidy showed up to stop Hardy from cutting someone’s hair, but just punched out Jack Evans instead. . We’d go to a commercial break, and who knows what will be happening when back.
Back from the break, some order was restored as Santana hit a cutter on Blade before a double backdrop from Santana & Ortiz. Quen tagged in and hit a big hurricanrana before Kassidy hit a diving stunner on Santana. Penta took out Kassidy with a huge backbreaker, and Butcher would send him out.
Fenix & Blade took the ring, and a lariat got a double down. Penta was back in and hit a sling blade before Fear Factor before the Street Sweeper. Two major finishers, and Kassidy wasn’t getting back up from that.
Just complete chaos from bell to bell, and one that was damn near impossible to keep track of – but never lacked for excitement. Not everyone’s cup of tea. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
After the match, Matt Hardy would get some interview time. Hardy claims Ford will beat Jay, and he’s sick of Orange Cassidy. He’ll be challenged for a Hair vs. Hair match… against Jack Evans. Who will become bald? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
