Kevin Owens has been teasing that he’s leaving WWE. There was speculation that Kevin Owens’ contract would end in January. It has now been confirmed that his contract will end on January 31, 2022. Both the Wrestling Observer and Fightful confirmed this. Kevin Owen signed with WWE back in 2018, which would signify the end of his 5-year contract.
Kevin Owens’ WWE Career
Looking through the 5 years, Kevin Owens has been with the company. He has had some amazing matches through the 5 years, but most of these matches were in NXT against Sami Zayn. Making the two of them the most underrated performers in WWE. Kevin Owens does have some noticeable stories that stand out on the main roster.
One with Chris Jericho and the other as the Universal champion, both not ending well. Compared to others, Kevin Owens could be seen as one of the best call ups. However, looking at this and how good Kevin Owens is at talking and as a wrestler. He never really was the top guy, which is very surprising, and it feels like he could be in another company.
AEW is looking very likely
The big argument now is that AEW is hiring too many top stars. It seems like people forget that having a good roster through the company can’t hurt. There is also the fact that the Elite, Jericho and Jon Moxley have been some of the top wrestlers for a while. It’s possible these new signees will be the ones who replace them soon. It feels like AEW are building a roster that will be enjoyed throughout the card.
