Britney Spears, for her part, does not have a good view of documentaries ever since she agreed to do her last one, ‘Framing Britney Spears.’ Immediately after it was released, Britney spoke out on how it viewed her in a bad light, as well as dividing her family further.
In a prior post, she remarked: “I didn’t watch the documentary, but from what I did see of it, I was embarrassed by the light they put me in … I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes.”
This release is harsh on Britney, given that she was not involved over what it would cover. Instead, the producers decided to do their own reporting in an attempt to have full say over how they could portray Britney. An insider confirmed: “[This documentary is from] years-long investigative work, exclusive interviews and new documents.”
Therefore, it is no surprise that Sam has had a negative view of this documentary already following the release of the trailer. And in doing so, he questioned the motives of the documentary makers. In a post to his fans on Instagram, he said: “I hope the profit from these docs go towards fighting against [sic] injustice #freebritney.”
So what can we expect from the documentary? Well, according to the trailer, it will touch on her conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears, including the fallout that emerged over his reaction to her relationship with Sam.
Britney was apparently prevented from marrying Sam, in addition to not being able to have children with him. That is why the clip of the trailer focused on Britney’s desire to free herself.
In the clip, Britney is heard saying: “I just want my life back. I’ve worked my whole life. I don’t owe these people anything.”
Time will tell how the documentary is perceived, but given what Britney has said in the past about these things, it is probably wise that she does not watch it. Instead, she should just focus on being happy with Sam.
