AEW has only been around for a couple of years and has started to creep up to WWE’s rating and sales. Now it sounds like they are beating WWE in another aspect. If the 18-49 demo wasn’t enough, it now seems like more tickets are being sold by AEW. It’s possible that AEW has just planned on bringing crowds back into the stadiums, but the fact that they are currently beating them is a massive win for AEW over WWE.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has said this
In the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter, they have revealed AEW are beating WWE in another way:
“We’ll have more next week on this when I go through all the September business numbers, but AEW did outdraw WWE significantly per show. I’ll figure with and without Arthur Ashe Stadium. For October advances, AEW is slightly ahead paid even though both Miami shows are not doing well. Really October looks closer to a dead heat with both companies way down from September because nobody has the big shows like AEW had in Newark and New York, and WWE had in Philadelphia.”
Is the War just beginning?
In the past, we have heard from some that the War between WWE and AEW is just beginning. It’s possible after this reveal and the fact that AEW are beating Raw in the demo. It’s possible that the Wednesday Night Wars will become a weekly war. On the other hand, there is a possibility that this may bring out the best out of both companies and will hopefully bring a lot more excitement to both companies.
