While some will complain that AEW is bloating their roster, others are excited as Tony Khan gathers one of the best rosters that we’ve ever seen in North America. Their latest edition is none other than Lee Moriarty, with his signing being announced shortly after his match on the Buy In for AEW Rampage earlier this week. How big could this be for AEW?
Lee Moriarty Is One Of The Brightest Up And Coming Stars
As proven in his matches with Daniel Garcia & Bobby Fish, Lee Moriarty is a fantastic technical wrestler. He also brings some good speed and striking, but technical wrestling is what really makes him shine. This is a skillset he has honed for a few years on the indies, where he is a former IWTV World Heavyweight Champion.
He’s had incredible matches with the likes of Wheeler Yuta, Travis Huckabee, Joey Janela and more in just 2021 alone – all worth seeking out. AEW got in early on Moriarty as well, with him only being five years into his career. A few years back, he would have been spotted in the front row of an NXT Takeover event as a highly lauded signing – but nowadays, AEW is where people like him look to get to.
A Future World Champion In The Making
When it comes to the future potential of someone like Lee Moriarty, he truly has the potential to become one of the best in the company. Recently we’ve seen MJF, Jungle Boy, Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara known as the ‘Four Pillars’ of AEW, but someone like Moriarty could fit just as well into that mix. He could be counted among some of the ‘future world champions’ in AEW, alongside Ricky Starks, Hangman Page and more.
Once he creates a solid character and finds his footing within AEW, he will be seen battling for the AEW & TNT Championships. These are types of names that AEW have proven to be able to handle very well, and could make him into that World Champion star that fans want to see in their wrestling.
