In a match that no one ever expected to see, The Inner Circle are taking on The Men of The Year… and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos. Weeks of attacks from the Dan Lambert led American Top Team has led to this, with Jericho looking to take the fight to a UFC legend, while shutting up Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky.
Junior Dos Santos Hits Some Punches
Dos Santos would be making his professional wrestling debut, but Sky would start the match alongside Sammy Guevara. Guevara would use his speed, but had to tag in Jericho. Dos Santos entered the ring, and threw punches on Jericho… while Jericho treated it like a hockey fight. Jericho would be battered and Hager had to tag in, and he’d be better equipped to take Dos Santos on.
Hager would be taken into the wrong corner, but despite being smashed by a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Jericho was already back up for a tag to grapple with Scorpio Sky. Sky & Page would isolate Jericho in their corner, showing some tag team prowess – but Page almost got caught in the liontamer. Page flipped Jericho off, and nailed some punches before tagging in Sky.
Carnage In A Brutal Main Event = Chris Jericho Laid Out
Sky looked to set up a superplex, but Jericho fought him off and hit a diving crossbody for a two count. Dos Santos tagged in and went for a powerslam, nailing it for a two count. Page was tagged back in, and Jericho hit an enzuguri. Guevara was tagged in and he’d nail a double springboard into a cutter on Sky, before a standing Spanish Fly on Page and an elbow on Dos Santos.
Jericho tagged in and hit a Lionsault, but Page broke the pinfall up. Hager & Dos Santos brawled, and Hager would slam him through a table. Now with Dos Santos out of the match, Jericho would focus on Scorpio Sky. He’d block the TKO attempt, and apply the Walls of Jericho. Paige VanZant ran a distraction, and Jorge Masvidal hit a knee strike to allow Sky to get the win. VanZant took a selfie, and Jericho was beaten into the mat.
A sloppy six man tag team match, which brought some excited and heat where it lacked in-ring quality. Not one of Chris Jericho’s finest moments. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
Santana & Ortiz made the save, somehow running off a ring of MMA fighters. Will Chris Jericho face Jorge Masvidal at Full Gear? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
