AEW Dynamite has been in a tough situation of late. This is mostly due to the fact that in the last two weeks, Dynamite has taken a massive hit in viewership due to being moved to Saturday nights. The viewership from the last two Saturday nights has been 727,000, which isn’t bad. But it is further declining with last Saturday night’s show hitting a low of 575,000.
This was the last night of Dynamite on Saturdays as they’ve gone back to their regular time slot of Wednesday nights. The viewership has gone up, and the latest show did hit 941,000 viewers. This is a massive increase from the Saturday night’s show but still below a million what does not look that good for Dynamite. However, taking a closer look at when this has happened in the past. It doesn’t seem like there is anything to worry about.
Why this isn’t a surprise drop
AEW Dynamite has now had a lot of episodes changed to Saturdays. This being due to TNT having another show on Dynamite’s time slot. Meaning that, at the moment, this can’t be helped. But with this happening in the past, there is a sort of viewership pattern that shows that Dynamite will most likely hit back to 1 million next week. The last two times the time slot was changed was June 18, which drew 552,000 viewers that aired on a Friday night Dynamite and June 26, which drew 649,000.
These numbers are very similar to the numbers we saw on the last two Saturday night episodes. Then we look at the return of Wednesday night Dynamite after that. The viewership was 883,000, which is very close to what we saw with the latest episode of Dynamite. After the return to its original time slot, it was the second show after that to hit back to the over million bar, with it hitting 1.025 in viewership. After this, it’s possible that Dynamite could easily back at hitting over 1 million on a weekly basis in the show.
