It’s that special time of the week, when we sit back and break down all the action that you might not have seen this week in WWE. When they produce so much content on a weekly basis, it’s nearly impossible to watch everything that WWE puts out – especially if you watch other promotions. However, here is what went down in dark matches ahead of Smackdown, on WWE Main Event, and will happen on 205 Live this Friday!
Draft Picks Spoiled By Dark Matches, MACE & T-BAR Are Enjoying Their Last Few Weeks Together
Starting with the dark matches from ahead of Smackdown Live this past week – there was a lot going on. Top Dolla would get a match against Cedric Alexander to kick off the night for fans, with the rest of Hit Row in his corner – making it no surprise they got drafted later that night. Xia Li would defeat Dakota Kai – and Li was drafted to Monday Night RAW the following Monday. Kai has not been seen in the draft or on NXT yet – her status unknown. Finally Keith Lee would defeat local talent, Steve Somerset.
Looking forward to Monday Night, RAW didn’t get a dark match due to WWE Main Event being taped instead. We’d see two matches on that show, with Karrion Kross beating up Ricochet… again. Kross was a late draft pick, showing that interest in him is truly low. The main event of WWE Main Event was Mace & T-Bar defeating The Viking Raiders – an odd choice due to Mace & T-Bar being split in the draft.
Women’s NXT Star Returns, AEW Dark Hopeful In WWE
This Friday night, the latest episode of 205 Live will air. They really should rename this show, as it hasn’t been live in well over a year now. Taped before NXT 2.0 this week was three matches – and like always this show sounds solid from an in-ring perspective. Spoilers are ahead, so you have been warned if you plan to watch this show.
Opening up the show will be Sarray getting a win over Amari Miller. Sarray has been off TV since being beaten down by Toxic Attraction, so it’s nice to see her back. We’d see The Creed Brothers of Diamond Mine in action against the team of Andrew Lockhart & Demetri Jackson. Andrew Lockhart has been recently on AEW Dark, and has the distinction of losing to 2.0/EverRise in both AEW & WWE. Finally, in the main event slot – Grayson Waller redeemed his loss against Roderick Strong with a win over Trey Baxter.
