When Adam Cole entered AEW, John Silver of The Dark Order had a great idea. He should cut his hair, call himself BUDGE, and join the Dark Order as his manager. Silver just wanted to help out this young gun getting started off in a ring he knows well. Cole took such offense to this, that just a few nights after being annihalted by Jungle Boy, Luchasarus & Christian Cage – he’s going to do his best to take Silver out tonight on Rampage.
This is a man who got thrown off a WarGames cage, and stepped up the next night for a title defense – Cole is just built differently. However the same could be said about John Silver, the short powerhouse of The Dark Order. He’s as silly as he is dangerous, and Johnny Hungee is about as silly as the AEW locker room gets.
It’s All About The BUDGE
After Silver led the crowd in a loud BUDGE chant, Cole would nail a pump kick. However Silver quickly got serious, and press slammed Cole into the ring ropes before nailing a set of Biel throws. Cole would nail a kick and send Silver to the apron, following for a snapmare onto the hardest part of the ring. Camel Clutch was applied on the outside, and Britt Baker somewhere watched her man become a Young Bucks kiss sandwich.
Back in the ring, Cole would hit a back elbow, but was showing the lasting damage of the con-chair-to he took on Dynamite from Christian Cage. Silver would take a Ushigoroshi, kicking out at two. Battling back with some shots, Cole shut him down with a back elbow to the neck, before applying a tight side headlock.
Adam Cole Survives John Silver Despite Not Being 100%
Silver was able to break free and nail some mid-kicks, before a big back body drop. Cole would continue fighting, standing and fighting with Silver. He’d manage to counter a lariat into a backslide, with Silver countering his counter – nailing a series of fast kicks, before being nailed with the knee drop brainbuster. Cole was unable to follow up, but would lower the knee pad for The Boom.
Silver would catch him with a lariat, snap German Suplex and a punt kick – with The Young Bucks helping to get the foot of Cole on the ropes. Dark Order rushed ringside, and Cole tried to take advantage with a low blow – only for Silver to block, nail Cole low and nail a Spiral Bomb for a two count. Cole was able to set up Panama Sunrise, but unable to nail it. He’d manage two superkicks and the Boom, managing the win in the process.
