Democrat Party politician Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has responded to a video that was released by Republican Paul Gosar, which showed a Japanese anime of himself killing her and attacking US President Joe Biden.

The video raised several talking points because it highlighted more than just condemnation of politicians. The video had reportedly included texts of Japanese words, which included “drugs, crime, poverty, money, gangs, violence” and “trafficking,” as the images focused on migrants.
While it was attempting to address President Biden’s failure to deal with the US-Mexico border crisis, Alexandria was outraged by the lack of punishment for Paul.
In a post to her followers on Twitter, she remarked: “So while I was en route to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who fundraises for neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me.
“And he’ll face no consequences bc @GOPLeader cheers him on with excuses.” Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind that Twitter did take some action against Paul.
While the video was still allowed to stay on its platform, users were only allowed to watch it. In that way, Paul’s views could not be spread amongst their millions of users.
In a statement, Twitter said: “As is standard with this notice, engagements with the tweet will be limited. People will be able to quote tweet the tweet, but will not be able to like, reply or retweet it.”
This lack of perceived action is the reason why Alexandria continued to call out Republican politicians over their behaviour. She showed a tweet that suggested she had been accosted during the course of her work-related duties by Republican Ted Yoho.
But much in the same way, she felt that there was no outcry. In another tweet, she remarked: “Remember when Yoho accosted me on the Capitol and called me a f—ing b—…All at my job & nothing ever happens.”
Alexandria and Paul certainly have a lot of bad blood between them. And that looks as though it is not going to change. With that in mind, this story is not going to die down anytime soon.
