A nurse, who was in attendance at the Astroworld festival where a reported eight people had died at Travis Scott’s show, has spoken out.

The nurse, Madeline Eskins, was outraged as many other people were also apparently injured. It is not clear why this stampede had occurred.
But rumours are already emerging that there might have been someone who was injecting people with drugs in the crowd. In any event, Madeline was not pleased.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Madeline said: “Fans were recording the concert and people doing CPR. Fans were yelling at the stage crew around us, saying, stop the concert, people are dying. No one listened.”
This begs the question of why was there not any action taken sooner. Well, this could be due to several reasons. First of all, given that events have to comply with Covid regulations, there may have been an extra strain on the organisers to respond in time.
Secondly, given that so many fans had turned up, it was always going to be difficult to get an efficient response. And yet, that was not something that Madeline focused on.
In fact, she was worried about the lack of qualified medical personnel on hand. In a post to her fans on Instagram, she stated: “Some of these medical staff had little to no experience with CPR – didn’t know how to check a pulse, carotid or femoral.
“Compressions were being done without a pulse check, so ppl who had a pulse were getting CPR.” But it was not just the audience who had been left traumatised.
The same has been said of Travis. According to reports, the incident has left his mental health in a weak position. As such, he is not in the right frame of mind to be even thinking about performing.
A source told Page Six the following: “[He had] no idea what was going on, he was on stage performing. He’s beside himself. I’ve never heard him like that. He was in tears.”
