Former United States President Donald Trump has seemed to suggest that the Capitol Hill rioters were justified in their attempts to harm former Vice President Mike Pence.

The Capitol Hill riots demonstrated the outrage that was going on in America at what people believed to be a huge division between Republicans and Democrats.
Naturally, there were concerns at the time that several high-profile politicians could be targeted, including Mike. But when Donald was asked to address whether Mike had reasons for feeling worried, his comments suggested otherwise.
During an interview with ABC, he said: “I thought he [Mike] was well-protected, and I had heard he was in good shape.”
This goes against the feeling that was blowing up at the time. According to reports, the protesters were demanding that Mike be harmed to the extent that people were calling for him to be ‘hanged.’
While it is not clear whether these were just tongue-in-cheek remarks which were said in anger, given the fact that they had stormed the federal building, it showed the protestors meant business.
When Donald was asked to address this, he hinted that the protestors were justified in what they were saying. He added: “Well, the people were very angry.”
Naturally, this led to criticism given that the former President refused to call out the potentially violent behaviour and instead was pandering towards extreme groups.
And yet, Donald justified it on the grounds that the election he had contested with now President Joe Biden, had been fixed. Therefore, he was deprived of a victory which meant that people had no choice but to voice their anger.
He continued: “Because it’s common sense, Jon. How can you — if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? How can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?”
With Donald clearly being unsatisfied with the election result, there is the feeling that he will be looking to make a run for office once again.
