Alex Jones, who is best known for being the pioneer of InfoWars, has been found guilty in four cases of defamation following a lawsuit he is facing by the family of the Sandy Hook victims.
Alex Jones Has Been Found Guilty Of Defamation In Relation To His Comments On The Sandy Hook Shooting
Alex, for his part, was ordered to disclose some documents by a judge in Connecticut so that he could prove his following claims. Alex denied that the events had occurred in the manner that the government was describing.
Therefore, the shooting which reportedly killed 20 people, was described as none other than a ‘hoax’ by Alex. This was predicated on the grounds that Alex believed it was a false flag operation designed to impose stricter conditions on the use of guns.
By doing so, it would curb the freedom provided by the 2nd amendment of having ‘the right to bear arms.’ In order to achieve this, Alex had apparently stated that crisis actors were used to pull this off.
However, as a consequence, the families have allegedly experienced harassment. That is why the families of the deceased have stated that Alex may have profited by perpetuating these claims.
The response on social media was firmly in favour of the decision. Many felt that Alex had overstepped the line, given that his actions seemed to be disrespecting the families of the deceased.
One person on Twitter wrote: “Good. This was one of the most shockingly offensive and dangerous conspiracy theories.
“Even if this doesn’t turn the tide, I hope it costs him and brings some measure of peace for the families.” While another stated: “This Monday keeps getting better…who knows, maybe the Rittenhouse jury chooses to convict?”
With that decision being made, there is the natural question of what is going to happen to Alex? Well, if he does retract the statement, then he risks losing all credibility amongst his followers. After all, it would show that he is weak.
And yet, if he does not do so, then he opens himself up to further lawsuits. In any event, he will most likely have to compensate the victims for the claims he has made.
