Tonight during Pro Wrestling NOAH – THE BEST 2021, a face from their past would show up. KENTA is a legend in NOAH, the protege of the even more legendary Kenta Kobashi. Over his time in the company, he claimed the GHC Heavyweight Championship once, the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship once, GHC Tag Team Championships one, and finally GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship three times.
He did it all, and left Japan to join WWE. That failed, but along the way he got to return to NOAH as Hideo Itami to wrestle his rival Naomichi Maruguji. When he returned to Japan, it was as part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling roster, but he never forgot his roots. Ahead of NOAH & NJPW running a joint show in the Tokyo Dome – KENTA is coming back to Pro Wrestling NOAH.
KENTA Will Return To Pro Wrestling NOAH As They Run Nippon Budokan
His appearance was a shock for fans watching all around the world, as well as those in the arena. It was a pre-taped promo, and while an official translation is not yet available, commentary made the message clear after it finished airing. KENTA is going to be at their show on New Years Day in 2022, in Nippon Budokan. Hopefully his match will be revealed ahead of time.
KENTA is just one of the ex-NOAH talents in NJPW, who are expected to show up with their new dealings. Yoshinobu Kanemaru in particular is a seven time GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion, and four time GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. Taiji Ishimori is equally decorated, as are others such as Suzuki-Gun who spent years in NOAH.
This is another forbidden door, and much like how KENTA was the first from NJPW to enter All Elite Wrestling? He’s the first to make his way into NOAH from NJPW. This is the first crossover between the companies since 2016, but likely won’t be the end of it.
What is your favorite match of KENTA in Pro Wrestling NOAH? Who else from NJPW do you hope to see in NOAH. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
