Among the many names cut from their WWE contracts this past week, one has drawn up a social media storm. Lince Dorado of Lucha House Party was hardly a major name in WWE. He came in during the Cruiserweight Classic back in 2015, and hung around as a singles and tag team wrestler until now. However, one comment about NXT superfan Izzy taking bumps in the ring years ago would boil until now, with a potential fight coming between Dorado and her father.
Issues Stemming From A 2018 Tweet
Everything started with Cody Starbuck (the Twitter account of the father of Izzy, an NXT Superfan notable for being around during Sasha Banks vs. Bayley) dropping a sarcastic comment about the release of Dorado, stating he wishes him the best in his future endeavours with a smiling emoji at the end. Dorado would fire back after the tweet was deleted from backlash from fans and wrestlers alike, stating the following.
“Don’t worry fam, I see you. Cody Starbuck soon. I’ll be at Silver Spurs Arena today at 4 after my competition. Come down and talk. We gonna talk or what?” The competition in question was a Ju Jistu tournament which Dorado won. As previously mentioned, this all seems to come from Dorado and other wrestlers not feeling a 12 year old taking a chokeslam was a smart idea.
Others who spoke out about this such as MSK member Nash Carter have gotten backlash from a dedicated group of fans in NXT. This is the crux behind their negative reactions in the Capitol Wrestling Center. Things went as far as Cody trying to get fans to chant about the dead father of Carter.
Lince Dorado Got An Apology Over Twitter, Cody Was A No Show To A Face To Face Talk
Dorado would pull up a remark from 2019 from Cody, who wanted Dorado to come fight him man to man – while adding “Out of respect, my issue is the the male. No women or kids. So if you want to talk lol see you at 4. Ticket and parking pass paid for.”
Before deleting his entire account, Cody would tweet out an apology to Dorado – saying the following. “Lince, No need to talk because I have truly already said too much. I am man enough to admit when I’m wrong. I sincerely apologize for my insensitive tweet on Thursday. Deleting the tweet is not enough. I owe you a direct apology. I also recognize and respect what you are dealing with professionally at this moment. I should have never made such a rude, off the cuff remark.”
Over on the AEW side of things, Serpentico & Diamante were enjoying the show. Sepentico lived 10 minutes from the arena and was gonna show up to watch, and Diamante was down to tag along. However, there was no fight – as Cody deleted his account, and this issue is gone to rest for now.
Seeing as Dorado is someone who has been friends with Eddie Kingston for a long time, it’s not shocking to see this side of him come out. Did you know about NXT superfan Izzy? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
