A funny thing happened when Roman Reigns appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote WWE’s Survivor Series last week.
Reigns talked about how he embarrassed his daughter when he took her to school by playing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
His daughter isn’t a fan of playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but Reigns has a different opinion as he likes to play Christmas music as soon as he can.
Special thanks to wrestlinginc.com for the transcript.
“We’re pulling up, I’m dropping her off at school. It’s like a little circle that ya have to drop them off at. As soon as we pull up to the circle, I just crank ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You.’ I turn it down to tell her I love her and goodbye. And as soon as she opens the door, I just crank it up.”
Would love to see it! https://t.co/p1J6VXnmhx pic.twitter.com/I9BbNtl5jB

Mariah’s response
A fan tweeted the video of the interview to Mariah and it looks like she got a kick out of it as she retweeted: “Would love to see it!”
This was a pretty cool engagement between one of the biggest pop stars ever and one of the WWE’s top talents currently. It could also open the door to future deals as the WWE is always on the lookout for a way to appear relevant and draw in casual fans.
While Mariah isn’t cranking out hits like she was during the 1990s, she’s still a top name and draw and she’d add a different layer to the WWE if something like that would happen.
Of course, this is nothing more than a mutual appreciation between the two of them.
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is a new holiday classic that makes it’s rounds on every radio station and cable channel at some point.
In this case, Reigns just wanted to share his joy and it resulted in a cool back and forth that may or may not lead to something more between Mariah and the WWE.
At the very least, it’s a cool moment that gives us plenty of things to imagine happening, like which pay-per-view will have one of her songs as the theme and so on.
We think she’d be perfect for Evolution 2 if the WWE ever gets around to holding another all women’s PPV, but until then there are plenty to choose from.
Which of Mariah’s songs would make a great theme for a PPV? Let us know in the comments below.
