The lawyer (Jason Bowles) of the armourer on ‘Rust,’ Hannah Gutierrez Reed, has claimed that his client is being ‘framed.’
Attorney Claims The Armourer On Rust ‘Is Being Framed’
Alec Baldwin’s prop gun incident, which ended up killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza, has called into question the role of Hannah. After all, it was alleged that she is in charge of making sure that the guns were safe to fire.
And yet, Jason does not see it that way. In fact, he took it a step further by claiming that Hannah is being used as a cats paw for someone else’s negligence.
In an official statement given to Fox News, Jason said: “We are convinced that this was sabotage and Hannah is being framed. We believe that the scene was tampered with as well before the police arrived.
“The truth-finding process demands that the District Attorney and FBI run down all of the evidence, including the nature of those live rounds.”
This is a huge allegation to make, and if it does transpire to be true, then the punishments could be even more severe. Not only would there be charges of negligence, breaches of safety, but there would also be the heinous act of covering up a crime and blaming it on someone else.
But given that Hannah is continuing to help the authorities, there is a suggestion that she has nothing to hide. In this way, she is adamant that she is innocent.
Jason added: “Hannah continued to cooperate and provided a full interview. Information is coming out that needs to be fully investigated and considered by the District Attorney.”
Nevertheless, these claims have not gone down well. Others have seen it as an attempt to just deflect attention away in order to avoid being held culpable.
Mary Carmack-Altwies, who happens to be the Santa Fe County District Attorney, had this to say: “I know that some defence attorneys have come up with conspiracy theories and have used the word’ sabotage.’
“We do not have any proof.” The only thing we can do is wait for the authorities to finish the investigation and get to the bottom of this. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
