Joe Amabile has come out and defended himself after a clip emerged which showed him mocking Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes’ recent break-up.

Katie and Blake broke up after barely being engaged. They had only been together just shy of three months, which made the split even more shocking.
But given that long-distance was an issue that they could not overcome, Joe’s comments did not help the situation. During his appearance on the ‘Chicks in the Office’ show, Joe spoke on how he wanted couples to be honest over how they felt.
And when he was asked about Blake and Katie, this is what he had to say: “I just want a couple in Bachelor Nation to break up and just be like, ‘We mutually f—king hate each other.
“We hate each other, thank you for all the love and support, but the past six months have been terrible.” Those comments were interpreted as Joe hinting that the two hated each other.
That is not what Joe wanted to put across, and yet, there could still be some truth to this. First of all, although long-distance was one of the reasons for Katie’s breakup, it is obvious that this was known before they hooked up.
Secondly, why would a couple break things off so quickly when they were engaged. After all, they were one step away from a potential wedding.
And yet, Joe denied that he was attacking them. In an interview with Us Weekly, he remarked: “I’m sure that was taken out of context. It was just a joke, and it was a funny one.
“I actually said it on [the] ‘Clickbait’ [podcast] as well. Sometimes I tell funny jokes. What am I gonna do?” Joe is currently engaged to Serena Pitt and is ironically in the same position Katie was in.
He has already spoken about the idea of a wedding. As of now, the couple have no plans to do it. But given what we have seen with Katie and Blake, anything can happen.
