WWE would put the fate of tonights WarGames advantage ladder match for the men in the hands of fans. A poll on WWE.com would determine who steps up. On the veterans side of things, everyone has taken on a ladder match. Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, LA Knight & Pete Dunne have seen worse. However the newcomers of NXT 2.0 have less experience with ladder matches, with none of the options having taken on such a challenge. But bigger tests are coming with WarGames, so tonight is just a test. That test will be accepted by Bron Breakker, who now meets Johnny Gargano.
Bron Breakker Meets Johnny Gargano Head On
Taking some time to flex, Breakker would have his ankle picked before being taken into a headlock. Gargano was shoved off and hit with a big shoulder tackle. Breakker tried for a big suplex, but was blocked and nailed with a hurricanrana. He’d slip outside, and take a crossbody from Gargano. Not losing control, Breakker would slam Gargano on the apron before shoving a ladder in the ring.
Gargano would meet Breakker in the ring, trying for a lariat before getting caught in a slam. Breakker threw Gargano out of the ring, but Gargano was right back in with a slingshot spear. Gargano sent Breakker to the outside, and sent him soaring over the announce table with a dive before we went to a commercial break.
WarGames Advantage – Claimed!
Back from the break, both men were down in the ring with a ladder finally upright. Both men would start their climbs, with Breakker beating Gargano down. Gargano would shove the ladder down, and Breakker stumbled to the outside. Breakker would block Gargano from setting the ladder up with a shoulder tackle.
Gargano would be suplexed onto a ladder, landing on the lower back. Breakker would set Gargano up on the ladder and look for a diving elbow, but missed and met steel. A ladder was set up in the corner, and Breakker was tripped right into it. Gargano went up top on ladder, and Breakker lifted both of them. Breakker lost control of Gargano and took some superkicks however.
Taking Gargano up, he’d follow to the top rope – dropping both with a wicked Frankensteiner. Breakker wanted to follow up with his press slam, but instead took a DDT. Gargano would climb the ladder, but be yanked down into the powerslam. Breakker made the climb, and got the win!
