Tony D’Angelo wants to get to the top of NXT 2.0, and he’s going to use Dexter Lumis to try and do so. He’s already given Indi Hartwell a parting gift, as he intends to have Lumis sleeping with the fishes before the end of the night. However, D’Angelo might have confidence for miles, but his in-ring abilities have never been truly tested – and Lumis is no slouch.
Tony D’Angelo Sneaks Out A Win, Dexter Lumis Injured By Carmello Hayes & Trick Williams
On his way to ring, Lumis would show D’Angelo a hand drawn picture of him sleeping with the fishes. D’Angelo was shaken, but would have to face the music. He’d flee the ring as the bell rang, with Lumis following and D’Angelo claiming the higher ground. This wouldn’t help him much as Lumis nailed a Thesz Press, before taking D’Angelo into the corner.
D’Angelo was able to weather the storm and apply a rear chinlock, before slamming Lumis down. He’d almost walk into Silence, before Lumis just laid in some heavy blows. The bulldog would be blocked, and D’Angelo grabbed the art stand from ringside. Using this as a distraction, he’d hit a thumb to the eye and swinging neckbreaker for the win.
Dexter Lumis Injured By Carmello Hayes & Trick Williams, Johnny Gargano & Pete Dunne Want Title Shots – Both Get It Next Week
After the match, Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams would attack Lumis, and a two on one beatdown would ensue. They’d seek to break the hand of Lumis, wrapping a steel chair around it and stomping down, before Gargano was able to run them off. Lumis was taken to the back, and now Gargano was fired up.
Hayes screwed with Gargano’s found family, and he will kick the teeth down Hayes throat. Dunne would interrupt and say that he is the one who deserves a title match, since he pinned Hayes like week. Hayes & Williams were up in the rafters of the CWC, saying they can stop begging for title shots. Williams tried to diss them, but he’s just the one who carries the bags.
Hayes would try to spit out some crap about the New School, and Dunne explained they’re the same age – but he’s got ten years of experience on him. Confident – Hayes would say he can take them both down in a Triple Threat. Next week, Melo will shoot – and this time he might miss. Just like last week. Meanwhile, Johnny Gargano has proven over 5 years that he’s the face of the company.
