American rapper 50 Cent, otherwise known as Curtis Jackson, has apologised to Madonna after he had mocked some of her previous Instagram photos.
50 Cent Apologises For Comparing Madonna To ‘Wicked Witch Of The East’-‘I Did Not Intend To Hurt Your Feelings’
In the incident, Madonna had decided to post a series of pictures in which she was wearing some very revealing clothing while she was posing on her bed. And in one such photo, Madonna was seen looking under the bed as her feet and legs were poking out.
Naturally, that did not go down very well with everybody. In response, the rapper decided to compare her to the Wicked Witch of the East in the ‘Wizard of Oz.’
To make that point, 50 Cent drew similarities through the poses as seen in the picture here. In response, Madonna was not happy, given that the pair are known to be friends.
She said: “Here is 50 Cent pretending to be my friend. Now you have decided to talk smack about me! I guess your new career is getting attention by trying to humiliate others on social media.”
But that was not the only disgruntlement that Madonna had towards this. She felt that the rapper should have been using his influence in a more positive way.
Given that he can reach a huge audience, it would have made more sense for them to unite on something rather than calling each other out.
She added: “[This is] the least elevated choice you could make as an artist and an adult.” Given that social media can often be used against high profile people, 50 Cent realised that he had overstepped the mark.
Therefore, if he did not act, this could have impacted his career negatively. After all, we only have to look at Chrissy Teigen’s social media scandal. And as a way to prevent the backlash, 50 Cent held his hands up and apologised.
He replied: “I must have hurt Madonna feelings. She went and dug up [an] old MTV photo from 03. Ok, I’m sorry I did not intend to hurt your feelings. I don’t benefit from this in any way.”
