Former CNN news anchor Chris Cuomo’s life has continued to suffer further turmoil with reported claims that he has lost his upcoming book deal.
Former CNN News Anchor Chris Cuomo Loses His Book Deal
Chris, for his part, had just been fired by CNN following two high-profile revelations about his conduct. Although he is going to apparently sue them, he still cannot get away from the following claims.
Not only did Chris help his brother and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo deal with the sexual misconduct allegations that were being directed against him, a woman had also claimed misconduct charges against him.
With an investigation currently ongoing to determine whether or not there is going to be an additional punishment for Chris, the very fact that he has lost this book deal suggests that there is a high chance that he could end up being cancelled.
The book in question ‘Deep Denial’ has an element of irony to it, given that Chris is denying the allegations which are being put forward against him. The book was scheduled to come out in autumn next year, but these plans have now been scrapped.
And yet, that has not stopped Chris’ critics from commenting on the nature of the press release surrounding the book. The book had attempted to give “a provocative analysis of the harsh truths that the pandemic and Trump years have exposed about America.
“About our strength and our character — and a road map of the work needed to make our ideals match reality.” This idea of exposing the truth is something that went viral on social media.
A large number of people picked up on the poetic nature of the title and suggested that this was poetic justice, given that Chris is being subjected to the very same thing that he was looking to do.
One person on Twitter wrote: “[The] book titles…regardless of the information in the book, convey much of the issues involved in a way that can only age well.”
The story may have set the precedent of creating a chain reaction, whereby further brands distance themselves from Chris. It is safe to say that cancel culture may have found its next target.
