Right now, it’s very hard to deny that All Elite Wrestling is the home of tag team wrestling in professional wrestling. Teams like The Young Bucks, The Lucha Bros, FTR and more all call AEW home – and those are just the names who have held the AEW World Tag Team Championships. New teams are always arriving, with the latest being the unit of Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish – also being known as reDRagon. They haven’t worked a traditional tag team match yet, but there is already a potential dream match in the works.
Matt Hardy Is Excited To See reDRagon In AEW
This would be reDRagon vs. The Hardy Boyz, which has now been teased on Twitter. Matt Hardy would start this while simply praising their arrival in AEW.
“Gotta be honest – It was great to hear the team name of “reDRagon” & the finisher “Chasing the Dragon” on AEW Dynamite tonight. Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly are HUGE pickups for
AEW. It’s a team that Jeff Hardy & I always wanted to wrestle against.”
O’Reilly would be quick to respond, saying the following while agreeing that’d be a great match. “This is rad. It would be an honor to wrestle the Hardy Boyz.”
This match could have happened in WWE, as both teams were there at the same time – but lack of crossover between the main roster & NXT kept this match from happening.
Will Jeff Hardy Sign With WWE In 2022?
There is an obvious issue here, that being that Jeff Hardy is not currently in AEW. He was released from WWE earlier this year after an incident at a house show, and after Jeff refused to go to rehab for issues he doesn’t believe he actually has. That situation is still up in the air, and a drug test was done on Hardy – who’s family notes he is better than usual.
If that drug test returns without issue, it feels obvious that AEW will sign the legendary Jeff Hardy. He’s always been a fan favorite, and proved at Survivor Series earlier this year that he can still deliver in a big way when he gets the chance. Another legend in AEW not be a bad thing – and there is almost too much smoke in regards to Jeff Hardy joining AEW for it not to be anticipated in 2022.
