Rap star Fetty Wap, otherwise known as Willie Junior Maxwell II, was reportedly arrested within the vicinity of Newark Liberty Airport, New Jersey on the grounds of breaching his current monitoring conditions.
Rap Star Fetty Wap Arrested After His Ankle Monitor Went Off- Authorities Release Him On Bail
According to reports, Fetty had an ankle monitor and therefore this prevented him from going to certain places as part of those restrictions.
And given that an airport was a place where Fetty could have boarded a plane to escape the restrictions that he was being subjected to, it is only natural that the authorities were on hand to apprehend him.
And it turned out, the police had a warrant for his arrest already. The warrant was based on the fact that he was being chased by the police for causing a public nuisance.
As of now, it is not exactly clear what he had actually done, but the star has been released on bail. But this is not the first time that the rapper has been subjected to trouble within the law.
The initial reason why he was given an ankle monitor was due to the fact that he had been charged on drug-related charges. This included specifically charges of possessing and distributing drugs across a wide network.
So much so that it is claimed he had helped to shift more than 100 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine during the period of 2019-2020.
And as part of that process, it is claimed that the drugs were transported in Postal Service vehicles throughout the country. This has been a tough time for Fetty. And not just because of the police involvement.
In August of this year, his 4-year-old daughter Lauren had died. Naturally, that has gone on to have an impact on Fetty, but unfortunately for him, it has led to him spiralling out of control.
Although that is no excuse for his behaviour, it does add some much-needed context to his struggles. Time will tell whether Fetty can turn his life around, but if there is any reason why he should do so, then it is to do it for his daughter who is no longer here.
