This past Sunday at NXT WarGames, Bron Breakker led Team 2.0 to victory. He did so by slamming NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa into the ring and pinning his shoulders for the three count. Tonight on NXT 2.0, Breakker will address the crowd and the champion. With New Year’s Evil looming, we could be just moments away from having our main event for this next NXT Special.
Diamond Mine Brings A Challenge To Bron Breakker,
Before this, we’d hear from Joe Gacy. He lost on Sunday, but made major strides when he broke down the weight barrier of the Cruiserweight division. Gacy is working on getting the name of 205 Live changed even. However next week, we’re now promised the long awaited debut of Harland. The former Parker Bordeaux has been hyped as ‘the next Brock Lesnar’, which has set the bar very high for him.
Breakker would hit the ring, getting a strong reaction from the crowd in the CWC. Last Sunday two teams went to battle. Team Black & Gold was tough as nails. They built the foundations of NXT 2.0, and Breakker respects them – but Ciampa got pinned. This puts them at one win a piece. Simple situation – one more match for the NXT Championship. Instead of Ciampa, Diamond Mine would hit the ramp.
The Creed Brothers have a match with Briggs & Jensen, but first Bivens wants to speak with Breakker. He’s the real deal, but so is Roderick Strong. Strong has cleaned out the Cruiserweight division and is looking for bigger challenges. Breakker claimed that Black & Gold built the foundation, but Bivens says Strong handed him the blueprints. Strong wants to take on Breakker, and next week they will clash one on one.
Grizzled Young Veterans Fail To Screw Over Briggs & Jensen
Briggs & Jensen would hit the ring for the tag team match. Two country brawlers taking on two top level mat wrestlers is a good combo. Grizzled Young Veterans joined the commentary booth, and Imperium would also get a closer look from the rafters. Brutus would start with Jensen, being dropped with a shoulder tackle before an elbow drop and forearm to the neck.
Briggs tagged in and would lay in a right hand to the face of Julius before blocking a takedown. Side slam and big splash would keep Julius down, before Jensen tagged in to hit double punches. Brutus tagged in and hit a big belly to belly suplex, before The Creed Brothers nailed some big knee strikes and fireman carries.
Jensen would be sent out of the ring with a big lariat by Brutus before Julius hit a big suplex. GYV left their post and stole the tag rope from Briggs & Jensen, ensuring Jensen was truly stranded. He’d survive the stretch muffler, but no legal tag could be made. Briggs realized the ruse, but Jensen got a rollup for the win all the same.
Match Rating: 2.25/5 (** 1/4)
Duke Hudson lost the hair vs. hair match against Cameron Grimes last Sunday at WarGames. Now with a freshly shaved head, what can Hudson do to distract fans? Well a bad wig would be a start, and even Wade Barrett couldn’t defend him. Hudson called his being shaved bald fake news, but he’s got a full head of hair obviously. Grimes would come to the ring, and Hudson secured his hair with some headgear.
Grimes knew something like this was coming, but this is lower than even he expected. Hudson is denying the truth, while Grimes stood tall through everything that led to the match. Every insult was thrown at Grimes, but he is ready for one more round with no rules. No Holds Barred is coming!
Will Duke Hudson redeem the WarGames loss next week? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
