Jon Moxley is back. Three months ago, he’d check out of AEW and into rehab, and is now back to doing what he does better than anyone else – and that’s kick some ass. He was two matches away from a chance to regain his AEW World Heavyweight Championship, so that might be a good idea on what is next for him.
Jon Moxley Bares His Soul On TBS
As Wild Thing exploded through the speakers, the crowd went wild for Jon Moxley as he ripped through the crowd. Grabbing a live microphone, he’d need to wait for the loud ‘Moxley’ chants to die down before he could even think about speaking.
He’d recount an awful dream he had during a plane landing. Was on the side of the road, beaten and bruised and covered by a dark cloud. A demon that follows you your whole life, says everything that you have in your life that is good was never supposed to happen. The demon asked Moxley if he really thought he was going to make it out.
No one makes it out of life unscatched, everyone has their scars on the inside and out. We sometimes try to ignore the scars inside, but those scars and the battles that caused them make you who you are. No one should be scared to stand up and bare your soul, because your scars are who they are.
There are people around the world who might try to write Moxley off, but they can go like his Demon and shove it up their ass. Moxley doesn’t run from demons, he beats the shit out of them. Everyone that supported Moxley – he thanks them, and is ready to take them on a ride through 2022 where he takes professional wrestling by the balls and shows that he is more free than ever before.
There’s nothing that can be done to Moxley in the ring that is worse than the battle he just got done fighting. If you thought he was dangerous before – all he drinks now is blood. Moxley is here to stay, and that’s damn good news.
Mixed Tag Team Action
Adam Cole & Britt Baker are now united on AEW TV – and that means some trouble. We got the undefeated and #1 ranked man in AEW, and the Women’s World Champion herself. Tonight, we will see Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander get some revenge for recent beatdowns – and prove that this power couple isn’t actually so tough.
Baker & Statlander would start this match, but Baker rushed to a tag. Cole came in, and therefore OC needed to come in. It’d swap again, with Cole & Baker seeming to play some mind games. Instead, OC nailed the taunting kicks and had his foot stomped before sweet shin music.
Baker took time to taunt, before getting slammed by Statlander and nearly taking Big Bang Theory. Cole would tag in, and Statlander distracted while OC set up a crossbody. He’d follow up with the big swinging DDT, and Cole rolled to the floor. Baker tried to save her teams momentum, but Statlander caught her with a delayed suplex. On the floor, OC hit a tiny dive onto Cole and hugged it out with Statlander.
They’d walk right into superkicks after this, before Cole & Baker kissed. OC was tossed into the ring post, before Cole would continue the attack in the ring with some slow neckbreakers. Cole is a great mat wrestler, and showed this as he grinded OC down.
Britt Baker Goes Through The Table
OC would slip out of a headscissor, and drop Cole with a lariat. Cole hit one of his own, and it was a crawl to the tag. Statlander would explode on Baker, hitting a quick backbreaker before the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Baker would roll Statlander into a backslide, but only managed a two count.
Cole & OC would throw hands in the ring after the tag, with Cole nailing a big enzuguri. OC hit Stundog Millionaire, but Cole got a blind tag. Baker would nail OC with the Curb Stomp behind the referees back – and Statlander nailed a big driver before getting up the Area 451 Splash. Cole was there to block, and he’d just get smashed before OC came in and hit the Beach Break for a two count.
OC would try to follow Cole to the ramp, but ate a superkick. Statlander saved him from the Panama Sunrise, only for Cole to tease it on her. Instead, Baker hit a superkick and Pittsburgh Sunrise on the ramp. In the ring, Panama Sunrise just got a two count.
Cole would clear a table, and Baker was sent through it by OC. A low blow would come to OC, before The Boom with the exposed knee took OC out for the three count.
