Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has given his fans an insight into some of the things that were going through his mind when he was playing the famous character including a surprise crush on Helena Bonham Carter.
Daniel Radcliffe Admits He Had A Childhood Crush On Fellow Harry Potter Star Helena Bonham Carter – ‘I Do Love You’
It has been 20 years since the first Harry Potter movie came out, and in order to celebrate such a feat, a reunion has been held on HBO Max with the cast members of the show.
And it was during this moment that Daniel Radcliffe dropped a significant revelation about having a crush on one of the movie’s most famous stars. This was none other than Helena Bonham Carter.
That is when Daniel decided to read out a letter he had written to Helena personally at the time. In the letter, he had stated the following: “It was a pleasure being your costar and coaster in the sense that I always ended up holding your coffee.
“I do love you. And I just wish I had been born 10 years earlier. I might [have had] a chance. Lots of love and thanks for being cool.”
But just because Daniel Radcliffe did not manage to win Helena Bonham Carter over, by virtue of the clear age difference, the star did have some romantic moments from people that were associated with the movies.
Although he did not go on to name them, the very fact of the matter is that they did influence his outlook when he was growing up. And that is something that has stayed with him to this current day.
He added: “Every part of my life is connected to ‘[Harry] Potter. My first kiss is connected to someone here. My first girlfriends were here. It all spirals out from the part of the set somewhere.”
Much in the same way, the movie’s other stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton had also been connected in some way as Emma admitted to “falling in love” with Tom.
With the Harry Potter cast now all grown up, their friendships have only gone on to become a whole lot stronger. And that is something that they can clearly look back on with a lot of fond memories.
