When daughters start to date, dads tend to become more attentive to their daughters’ beaus. Gordon Ramsay is no different as he recently revealed that he has crashed his daughter’s date.
Gordon Ramsay: Hell Chef and Hard-Assed Dad
While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Ramsay—a father of six—said that he stepped in to sate his curiosity and concerns about his eldest daughter Megan (23) and her ex-boyfriend Byron. Beginning by stating that he’d done “something really bad last week,” he said that he dropped in on their dinner via FaceTime.
Gordon Ramsay Crashed Daughter’s Date to Have “A Proper Chat” With Her Ex-Boyfriend
Apparently, Megan and Byron had been going out on dates without Gordon Ramsay knowing anything in case anything happened. He was given the young man’s number by his youngest daughter Tilly who pleaded with him to “don’t do anything.” Of course, that’s going to fall on death’s ears not just because he’s Gordon Ramsay but he’s a parent.
Ramsay waited until they were out at dinner and hit him up on The Kelly Clarkson Show. His introduction of himself was classic as he told Kelly Clarkson:
“He sort of answered the phone, this thing was shaking. I said, ‘Byron, it’s me, not your future father-in-law, you little f***!’ Megan went over and pushed and cut me off, which was so rude. I was just in the middle of having a proper chat.”
“He Was Just a Little Bit Pathetic”
Also, in describing Megan’s ex, he said that the guy was “OK to begin with. A little bit wet. You want a man to date your daughter and he was just a little bit pathetic.” Of course, that popped the show host and yours truly. All and all, the chef and television host said that he felt 30-years-old was “a good age to start” dating.
While dating is something that should be handled by the adults involved—being a celebrity with a kid and seeing how relationships are pretty much run through as if a flight is being missed, his actions weren’t particularly shocking.
What do you all think? Should Gordon Ramsay mind his own business in regards to his adult kids’ dating lives or is he doing what is expected since this could be a new person coming into the family—if it’s real and things work out?
