Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey has been called into question, with suggestions that she had informed somebody else of a different account than what she had told the talk show host.
Meghan Markle Has Been Accused Of Lying In Her Oprah Winfrey Interview With ‘A Very Different Story‘
The primary bone of contention seems to be over the claims that Kate Middleton had made Meghan cry in the run-up to her wedding in 2018.
And during the course of the Oprah interview, Meghan had stressed that the opposite had in fact occurred. In a statement at the time, Meghan had remarked the following: “[Kate] made me cry and it really hurt my feelings.”
Therefore, the failure by Kate Middleton to speak out against the negative media scrutiny that Meghan was experiencing, inadvertently led to Kate endorsing those views. However, this was disputed by a Royal source.
The source said: “I’ve had hundreds of hours of conversations with her [Kate] and it never came up. I only ever heard from Meghan about that — a very different story from what she said to Oprah.”
If these comments are taken to be true, then it does raise serious concerns about the credibility of Meghan Markle. After all, a certain subset of people were adamant that Meghan’s account of her time in the Royal family was not truthful.
This was based on the following two reasons. First of all, if Meghan was really that unhappy throughout her time, then there were plenty of opportunities for her to leave earlier rather than waiting for so long.
Secondly, in any event, she is known for being an actress. Therefore, it is not out of the realm of possibility to suggest that she is not capable of putting on a performance in front of the cameras in order to convince people of what she was saying.
And yet, in the absence of anything to prove otherwise, this claim only went on to create further division between supporters of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
The only way for this to be put to bed once and for all is for both Meghan and Kate to speak publicly on the matter. But it is sadly something that we are unlikely to see anytime soon.
