Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma & Yuji Nagata all have found it hard to find any role on Tokyo Dome as younger talent make their way up the card. However, they all found roles in the the New Japan Ranbo, and tonight unite to take on Bad Luck Fale, Gedo & Jado of BULLET CLUB.
Tomoaki Honma Nails Three Kokeshis To Win Opening Match Of Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night Two
Fale & Pals would rush the New Japan Dad’s, before Makabe got left in the ring with Fale. It was no King of Destroyer match, but these two clashing in the Tokyo Dome is always good fun. Jado would get a chance to stomp on Makabe with him down after a shoulder tackle, before Gedo in his Jay White merch would get some kicks in.
Makabe would fire up and hit some forearm blows, before running down Fale & Jado with a double lariat. Nagata hit the ring and took down his former student with some kicks. A fakeout dropkick to Jado kept the ring clear for him to attempt a submission.
Honma would almost pin Gedo off a rocket kokeshi before nailing the falling version and going to the middle rope for the winning kokeshi! That’s a 100% success rate to start 2022 for his signature blow!
Master Wato Starts 2022 By Earning A Title Shot
Master Wato was unable to find a place in the KOPW Fatal Four Way, but tonight has a potentially golden chance for Wato. He’s tagging with TenKoji, and has the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion on the other side of the ring. Desperado had a hard night last night, spending 18 minutes wrestling a breakneck pace against Hiromu Takahashi. Wato will never get a better chance to pin the champion, and start his 2022 with a title match.
Wato pointed to that IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship before starting a fight, going after the dismissive champion. Kojima & Tenzan took Kanemaru & Michinoku to the outside, and Wato showed the strikes that he hopes will someday make him a Grandmaster. He’d force Desperado into the corner, and Wato had to be forcibly tagged out. TenKoji would tee off on Desperado.
Tenzan yelled ‘Okay Brainbuster’ and it was a bit better than okay, but Suzuki-Gun would yank him out of the ring soon after. Kanemaru got a near fall off a knee strike, before Kojima got the tag and unleashed some machine gun chops. Wato & Desperado hit the ring and we got back to the main plot of his match.
Desperado nailed a big spinebuster before Guitarra de Angel. Wato got some aid from TenKoji and hit the Tenzan Tombstone, only to take a spear but snatch a two count into a submission off a Victory Roll. Desperado would be forced to tap out, and this actually should get him a shot!
More results to come, as Suzuki-Gun meets L.I.J
