A TikTok video went viral after a black woman claimed that she was being racially profiled, while she was shopping at an Asian store.

According to reports, the black woman happened to be an Instagram model by the name of Megan Milan.
And while she was shopping at a store in Los Angeles, the cashier decided to check her pockets on the grounds that she had reason to believe that Megan may have been stealing.
In the video here, we can see that the woman is being searched and clearly not happy at the implications of this. She is then seen exiting the store, while filming the name of it to warn her viewers of this.
Megan is then alleged to have said the following: “Only Black person in the store and you decided to check my pockets. I’m the only Black person. And you dug your hands in my pockets.”
In response, cashier replied: “I’m Asian too. I’m sorry. I don’t care. I really don’t care.” Megan did not take these comments very well, especially in light of the fact that it demonstrated there was a possible case of racial profiling.
This was particularly true since she claimed that no other customers in the store had been subjected to this behaviour. The video instantly went viral with thousands of views, and she had a lot of people to support her in the aftermath of this incident.
A certain subset of people even suggested the idea that it was probably wise to shop only in black stores on the grounds that there is a much higher chance that you are not going to be treated in this manner.
One person wrote: “That’s exactly why I haven’t been inside of an Asian own beauty supply in like 7 years. Y’all stay safe though.”
It is ultimately only a case for the store worker to know whether she had reasonable suspicion to believe that Megan may have been involved in a case of stealing. But that is something that we are never going to know. So there you have it folks.
