There are a lot of free agents in professional wrestling right now, but few are as hot as Johnny Gargano. After spending years as the face of WWE NXT – he decided to bet on himself and leave his comfort zone. While his top priority is getting ready to become a father- it’s also just about time for him to get back into the ring, and tonight might be the perfect time for him to show up in All Elite Wrestling.
Who Doesn’t Love A Hometown Debut?
Tonight, AEW is set to run a special episode of Dynamite called ‘Beach Break’, and it’s taking place in Cleveland, Ohio. This is the hometown of Johnny Gargano, and arguably the perfect place to bring him into the mix. Add in that for a special episode, the card is slightly lacking – and a big surprise is just what AEW needs to bring this card to the next level.
There is also proof that Gargano is in Cleveland tonight, despite having moved to Orlando during his time in WWE NXT. He was hanging out with his good friend Gregory Irons, with them taking a picture together with the location tag set to Cleveland. So he’s in town, a free agent, and is ready to go – so everything is perfectly set.
Johnny Gargano Could Show Up To Challenge The Winner Of TNT Championship Ladder Match
When it comes to when he could show up on tonight’s show – there are two possible spots. The first is helping Orange Cassidy to defeat Adam Cole in the Lights out main event. Gargano has crossed paths with OC in the past, and one of his biggest rivals is Adam Cole – with their matches being some of the best in WWE history.
However a more likely spot is at the end of the TNT Championship ladder match. Cody Rhodes & Sammy Guevara will determine the true TNT Champion. This is the workhorse title of AEW, and would be a perfect fit for someone like Gargano.
