Christopher Daniels has not been seen on AEW TV in a very long time now. Following SCU failing to claim the AEW World Tag Team Championships from The Young Bucks, the tag team was broken up. This was due to a wager that SCU made, where their next tag team loss would be their last – unless they claimed gold. Since then, Kazarian & Daniels have both broken off into wrestling in singles action again, but Daniels would love to regroup even for just one more match.
Christopher Daniels Would Love To Tag With Frankie Kazarian Again
Daniels would reveal as much while speaking with Chris Van Vilet, saying the following about the breakup of SCU.
“We weren’t looking forward to it, but it was a calculated risk to sort of make that offer. At the time there was a wide variety of tag teams in the company and I felt like there was an opportunity for us to maybe do singles as well if the match went the way it ended up happening. I would love an opportunity to tag with Frankie again if that was the case. At the same time, if singles is the way we must go, we’re both very accomplished singles wrestlers and we were before SCU and I think Frankie has proven that he can still go and I’m looking for that opportunity to prove the same.”
Daniels Has Failed To Find The Same Singles Success Following The Breakup Of SCU
While Kazarian moved into his “Elite Hunter’ gimmick following the breakup of SCU, which concluded in Impact Wrestling – Daniels has not found such a role since the breakup. Daniels is still with AEW, working as the Head of Talent Relations. He’s also stayed active in the ring, wrestling the likes of Brody King & Jay White.
Recently, Kazarian signed a new contract to stick around in AEW. He’s unlikely to show up in many main event matches, but remains a steady hand for AEW all the same. Neither man ended up looking good following the split of SCU, leading many fans to wonder why AEW broke them up in the first place.
