When it comes to runs within WWE, many will likely forget that Hideki Suzuki was even involved with the company. Signed in 2020, Suzuki would never wrestle for the promotion – instead joining the Performance Center staff as a coach, and appeared on-screen as Hachiman – the coach of Diamond Mine. He was released alongside other staff members in NXT including William Regal – and is now back to what he does best.
Hideki Suzuki Returns To The Ring For Pro Wrestling NOAH
With Keiji Mutoh being out of action, the GHC Tag Team Championships are now vacant. Because of this, Pro Wrestling NOAH are running a tournament – and Suzuki has joined the field. During the 2/23 NOAH event- Gain Control, a video featuring Hideki Suzuki would air and he stated that he’ll be coming to NOAH on March 13th to tag with Takashi Sugiura in the tournament.
The last time Suzuki was in 2020 when he tagged with new GHC Heavyweight Champion, Kazuyuki Fujita. He was part of Suguira-Gun at that time, and now rejoins their ranks. The opening match will see them wrestle Kenoh and current GHC National Champion Masakatsu Funaki.
Not Getting Along With The Other Coaches In WWE
When it comes to his time in WWE, Suzuki was not a great fit. He’s an incredible wrestler and likely had a lot to teach the talent in the WWE PC, but he’s also a very proud man – who does things his own way. He’d speak about this during an interview with ‘Weekly Pro Wrestling’ – saying the following.
“I didn’t disobey them, but I did kick up a fuss and give them attitude. As you might expect, WWE’s a big company, even in NXT alone there are so many people employed, and things change day-by-day, so a lot of things get decided without any contact with you. First and foremost, I did things at my pace. Then I’d train the rookies. Even after the class ended I’d be helping the people who were still in the gym. I didn’t go to the coach room, because I didn’t see any reason why we should have coach meetings.”
