When it comes to the WWE Hall of Fame, there are lots of names who still belong within it. Some like Owen Hart might never find their way in, and others like Christian Cage or Chris Jericho might need to leave AEW to get into the mix. However, after jumping the gun and releasing him late in 2021, WWE offered Jeff Hardy a spot in the Hall of Fame – but this was turned down.
Jeff Hardy Isn’t Going Into The Hall Of Fame If Matt Hardy Isn’t With Him
Aside from offering to place him in the Hall of Fame being a thinly veiled attempt to get him back under contract, it was also as a singles star. It’s hard to deny that Jeff Hardy doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame for this singles career. Hardy after all is a two time World Heavyweight Champion, one time WWE Champion, one time United States Champion and a five time WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Add in numerous tag team championship reigns, and two reigns as Hardcore Champion – and you have one helluva resume. However, he wants to go into the Hall of Fame as part of The Hardy Boyz, not solo. He broke into WWE alongside his brother Matt Hardy, and had some of his greatest moments along with him, and wants one more – that being going into the Hall of Fame.
Matt Hardy would reveal that Jeff turned down the offer during a Twitch stream, saying the following.
“Jeff asked WWE, ‘So you want to induct me into the Hall of Fame?’ And he said, ‘Well let me ask you, I know you guys have spoken with AEW. Is this going to be the Hardy Boyz? Is this myself and my brother Matt?’ And they go, ‘Oh, no no, no, no. We can’t get Matt. He’s under contract at AEW. You know, it would just be you.’ And Jeff said, ‘Well, that’s a hard no.’ He definitely stood up for the team of the Hardy Boyz.”
Right now, Jeff Hardy is expected to join Matt Hardy in AEW, potentially as soon as tomorrow night.
